A Beautiful Spiritual View
It’s time to step outside my comfort zone
God is with me; I’m never alone
Having faith to go forward today
I know for my life’s sake; it’s the only way
I’ve come so far in recent months, it’s true
Giving closure to the past; something I had to do
Can’t go back on the path I came
Must listen to the Lord, when He calls my name
Everything happens for a reason for sure
God has opened up a brand new door
I still have more boundaries to cross, to get through
My Lord has given me a beautiful spiritual view

Footprints
Footprints in the sand
Heavenly Father takes my hand
Two sets of footprints; me and You
One set of footprints, You carry me through

Look Within, Look Above
The Lord said to me
“Face the fear to be free
Look within for the strength to help you through
Deep in your soul, inside of you”
When events happen today
Look within to find a way
To carry on, even when you’re at the end of your tether
Think of giving up, not ever
The Holy Spirit will guide and lead
Look within for all you need
To discover such peace and love
Look within, look above

Santa Claus
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen
Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen
Santa’s eight; the only flying reindeer
Are fed a special diet; all year
To make them fast as the speed of light
Aided by magic dust on that unique night
In Santa’s workshop, busy are his elves
Little helpers attired in outfits of green
Surrounded by toys, stacked high on floor to ceiling shelves
Brightly wrapped presents of every shape and size, can be seen
All preparations have to be completed by Christmas Eve
At the precise hour, the sleigh must leave
The jolly rotund red- suited gentleman with a beard coloured white
Whose enormous sack is full to overflowing, for this important flight
Brings happiness and joy
To every adult, girl and boy
Santa around the world is well known
In numerous story books, his picture is shown
Santa’s sleigh is all packed up and ready
With his hands on the reins, Santa holds it steady
Their master’s voice, the reindeer hear
It’s the most exciting night of the year
Leaving the snow of the North Pole behind
The driver of the Christmas Express knows the exact route
He’s not flying blind
Santa Claus doesn’t only deliver presents, that’s for sure
He gives so much more
Wonderful gifts, that are a pleasure to receive
To all who can look deep inside to believe
The meaning of Christmas is beyond measure
Bestowing on humanity, abundance to treasure

Seasons
The seasons change
Something that God did arrange
In summer the heat can be intense
The air with humidity: moist and dense
In Autumn the weather, to cool: startts,
The warmth at this time of year: departs
In winter the temperatures drop down low
Time to enjoy a holiday in the snow
In spring everything rejuvenates
One thing's for sure: the seasons are never late

Peace Wins
War and famine
Hunger and pain
When will the world
Be at peace again
Plant the seeds
Renew and unite
All beliefs and creeds
Peace is in sight
The fabric of humanity
Harmony can mend
Hope and faith
Peace wins in the end

Setting Of The Sun (Day Is Done)
The sky at sunset has a slight tinge of red
Shepherd’s delight; it’s been said
The daylight, the earth has shed
Birds on the wing
Their calls through the dusk, ring
Everyone home, appearing to bring
Temperatures drop; cooling the air
Celestial bodies hang suspended above – everywhere
Twinkling stars; like diamonds, rare
Bright moon beams
Magical it seems
Just like dreams
Good night
Sleep tight
‘Til the morning light

Daybreak
The still of the dawn
The mottled sky of morn
Darkness blankets the scene; everywhere
Like icy fingers; the chilly air
Surrounds the senses; awake
Daybreak

The Recipe For Life
Treat everyone, as you do yourself
Don’t be greedy, idolise too much wealth
Be happy, content with what has been given to you
Embrace wisdom, your whole life through
Put in a lot of effort; try with all your might
To succeed, you must have the timing right
Hold your head up high, be proud of who you are
Face all life’s challenges; you’ll go far
Have Faith in the Lord above
The greatest ingredient to have in abundance is Love

The Game Of Life
It's how the game is played
The most of sportsmanship must be made
This is what really counts
Not the score amounts
Life is exactly the same, it's true
Take a peaceful view
Respect to others; give
By the golden rule; live

The Spider's Web
The spider spins a web
Of silken twine
Patterned; arranged so fine
Intricate in detail
For catching prey; never to fail
The Arachnid with legs – eight
Doesn’t have long to wait
For its dinner
Equipped with abdominal spinnerets; it’s the winner
Spinning a network of threads
That any insect dreads
Hope there’s not any inquisitive beetles or flies
As this complex work will fascinate – mesmerize
The spider’s web – decorative
Beware, stay alert and live

The Storm
The storm swept through like a train on a track
Driving rain and strong winds; it didn’t lack
Powerfully against the windows; slapped
Rumbling thunder; loudly clapped
Across the sky streaked the lightning; flashing
Moving quickly over the land; violently lashing
Out of human control is nature’s force
Such occurrences must take their course
The storm peters out; calm
That’s not the last; about this there’s no qualm

The Tree
The tree stands
Majestic and tall
With foliage spreading
Towering over all
Branches extending
Separately bending
Roots deep; underground
A single trunk; cylindrical – round
Covered with peeling bark
Ageless
On the eye of the beholder
Leaving its mark

How The Dog Got Its Name
God created humans and animals on Earth
All to Him, so much are worth
He was pleased when this was done
All were named; every single one
Some walked on land; others swam in the sea
Each was known from a to z
God noticed a small creature with its tail wagging
Which behind Him was never lagging
God looked down at its cute face
“As you have been faithful to Me, in every place
Your name will be Mine, turned around"
Dog, his title, he had found

Why The Crow Is Black
You know the story of Noah’s Ark
How all the animals went in two by two
Well, I’ll tell you why the crow is black, all dark
This happened when the world was new
God called all the animals, so they could
Receive a colour of their own
Each separate species assembled, as they should
The crow said,” If only he had known”
There were all the colours of the rainbow
Blue, Purple, Yellow, Orange, Red and Green
The peacock put on quite a show
The most spectacular ever seen
The crow came too late
The only colour left was black
He had to accept his fate
Self pity, he didn’t lack
It is a lesson to us all
To be watchful; don’t fail
Listen to God, when He calls
Now the crow’s caw is its wail

Heavy Rain ( Not Again!)
Heavy rain
Not again
Washing on the line
( Not mine)
Clean the car
How brave you are
Heavy rain
What a pain
Try the beach
It's within reach
The lawn to mow
Where did the sun go
Heavy rain
What a bane
Walk today
That's the way
A bike ride
Why stay inside
Heavy rain
Not again

Home Is Where The Heart Is
It doesn't matter where you may roam
The place to be; is home
Tour the world for a while
Travel for kilometers/ miles
Enjoy different cultures/ customs; see the sights
Through changing time zones; day or night
Fly, sail, drive or hike
Move around by any mode/ means you like
There's one truth you can't deny
No matter how hard you try
When on the return journey, you start
On reaching your destination; you'll find your heart

New Year's Eve
Fireworks will light
Up New Year's Eve night
Spectacular to the eye
Will be sighted in the sky
Look in awe
In memory forevermore
As the new year starts
From the past one, must part
All senses; it will thrill
Hearts; it will fill
This is the night of the year
When the old will disappear
Look forward to the new
Dreams will come true
My Favourite Computer
I love my favourite computer, it’s true
Sitting at the same one, I always do
Thinking it is the best one yet
Waiting to get
My name put on the seat
Seeing that would be a treat
So be quick
I’m asking you, Mick
“What do you say"
Maybe in my dreams, one day

Australia Day
Australia; down under
Continent of many a wonder
Multiculturalism; so much to give
Diversity; in harmony; to be able to live
It's all about the spirit; of lending a hand
Across this great land
A breathtaking country in every way

A Special Talent
Putting pen to paper, I love
To write poetry, I have for years
My God given talent from above
It’s my passion, to me being very dear
Each one of us has a special gift for sure
Just search your heart, so much you’ll discover
We are one big family and what’s more
God wants us to love one another
We are all beautiful in our own way
So to all people be kind
God’s children should unite, come what may
The world will be a better place, we’d find

Bill Bryson's 'Down Under'
Bill Bryson's 'Down Under' is a book
That deserves a long look
Full of historical facts about our amazing land
Other countries can't begin to understand
Where unusual animals live
The outback, harsh at times: with so much to give
It tells of his adventurous journeys through
Seeing magnificent views
From the time when Captain James Cook came
Discovery being his aim
Aborigines met him on the shore
The landing party, from a distant place
'The Endeavour' bore
A surprising country with diversity;
A certain caring spirit, everywhere
A great travel experience to enjoy and share

Serengeti – famed for annual migration
Of free range wild animals – largest concentration
Anywhere
Predator and prey in Tanzania’s greatest park
Natural beauty, eco systems – contrasts stark

Africa – mysterious – describes it best
From North, South, East and West

Friendship
Friendship is so beautiful to find
Blessed by God above
Two people together, it does bind
Filled with trust, loyalty and love
When someone offers their hand
So much it is worth every day
It means they understand
In every possible way
The world is such a wide space
Can be lonely at times to bear
With kindness and peace around the place
Friends are those special who care
